Some Properties of the Nil-Graphs of Ideals of Commutative Rings
Let R be a commutative ring with identity and Nil(R) be the set of nilpotent elements of R. The nil-graph of ideals of R is defined as the graph AG_N(R) whose vertex set is {I:(0)and there exists a non-trivial ideal such that and two distinct vertices and are adjacent if and only if . Here, we study conditions under which is complete or bipartite. Also, the independence number of is deter...
متن کاملMedian and Center of Zero-Divisor Graph of Commutative Semigroups
For a commutative semigroup S with 0, the zero-divisor graph of S denoted by &Gamma(S) is the graph whose vertices are nonzero zero-divisor of S, and two vertices x, y are adjacent in case xy = 0 in S. In this paper we study median and center of this graph. Also we show that if Ass(S) has more than two elements, then the girth of &Gamma(S) is three.
متن کاملBases for commutative semigroups and groups
A base for a commutative semigroup (S,+) is an indexed set 〈xt〉t∈A in S such that each element x ∈ S is uniquely representable as ∑t∈F xt where F is a finite subset of A and, if S has an identity 0, then 0 = ∑n∈ xt . We investigate those commutative semigroups or groups which have a base. We obtain the surprising result that Q has a base. More generally, we show that an abelian group has a base...
متن کاملAlmost Symmetric Numerical Semigroups Generated by Four Elements
In this paper, we study almost symmetric numerical semigroups generated by 4-elements. Rosales and Garćıa-Sánchez [RG2] proved that every almost symmetric numerical semigroup can be constructed by removing some minimal generators from an irreducible numerical semigroup with the same Frobenius number. Using this result, we concretely construct almost symmetric numerical semigroups generated by 4...
متن کاملArithmetic of Commutative Semigroups with a Focus on Semigroups of Ideals and Modules
Let H be a commutative semigroup with unit element such that every non-unit can be written as a finite product of irreducible elements (atoms). For every k ∈ N, let Uk(H) denote the set of all ` ∈ N with the property that there are atoms u1, . . . , uk, v1, . . . , v` such that u1 · . . . · uk = v1 · . . . · v` (thus, Uk(H) is the union of all sets of lengths containing k). The Structure Theore...
